Strategic Location

The smallest country in Central America, El Salvador has a population of 6.55 million and is the most densely-populated state on the mainland of the Americas. Geographically situated at the heart of the Americas, El Salvador is both part of the commercial land-bridge between the northern and southern continents and of the narrow corridor, linking Europe to Asia via the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Air travel from El Salvador to any major city in North or South America takes less than five hours. Export of freight is convenient for manufacturing companies, due to the country's proximity to key shipping routes. El Salvador shares the same time zone as the Central United States (CST) or GMT-6.
